I was pretty beat when I got up this morning and I almost went back to bed but I'm not going to be able to ride tomorrow after work because super cute Brendan Patrick is coming into town and I have to be home right after work because he's staying with us so I got my ass in the shower and headed off on my bike.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Pacheco.  This is the view up the Pacheco steps:

I headed up Forest Hill Pacheco to Dorantes to San Marcos to Casteneda to Lopez to Sotelo to 9th to Pacheco.  This is the view looking North from the top of the Cascade Steps:

I continued Funston to Aerial to 14th Avenue.  This is the view looking Northwest from 14th.  Gorgeous:

I continued on 14th to Ortega to 15th.  This is the view looking west from 15th and Aloha:

After work I headed off Sutter to Fillmore to Clay to Locust to Washington to Arguello to Cabrillo to 8th and into Golden Gate Park.  I stopped at the Music Concourse for some pics.  This is the California Academy of Sciences from a slightly different angle than I usually get it from:

The Band Shell,  It's been under renovation for forever:

I got on MLK to 9th to Judah to 7th into Laguna Honda to Dewey to Claremont to Portola to Santa Clara into Monterey to Diamond.  This is a view looking up Diamond from Wilder.  I love Glen Park:

Puzzlingly, the web site for doesn't work.  This place fascinates me.

I took Wilder to Arlington to Randall to San Jose to Duncan to Valencia to 26th to San Jose to 22nd to Guerrero.  Lots of gorgeous homes on Guererro:

Check out the detail:

I continued on Guererro to 20th to Dolores to 18th to Diamond to 17th to Ord and home.  I ran into Mr. Poe on the way up 17th.  We had dinner and I had some homework to do on my restrained and tasteful class website and then I went to bed.

I headed off this morning Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at MLK.  I followed that to Stow Lake where I took some pics.  Here are some Geese:

Beautiful Stow Lake:

I headed over to JFK to 8th to Cabrillo to Arguello to McAllister.  These are some of the pretty Victorians on McAllister at Parker:

Pretty St. Ignatius Church:

Lovely detail:

I continued on Mcallister to Parker to Golden Gate to Divisadero.  I've taken a bunch of pics of this gorgeous mansion on Divisadero but my detail shots of it never turn out.  It's really nicely detailed.  Trust.

I continued on Divisadero to Eddy to take pics of the recently renamed Macang Monastery.  It was the Holy Cross Catholic Church once and now it's a pretty Buddhist Monastery.  I like.  You can read a little bit more about them here.  They seem to be taking great care of the building:

Glorious detail:

Complete with Art Gallery:

I continued on Eddy.  Me on Eddy:

I continued on Eddy to Market to Sansome and into work.

I'm only $700 away from my Lifecycle fundraising goal and I'd really appreciate it if you pledged me if you haven't already.  Click here to pledge me.  You're the best!

After work I headed off Sansome to Jackson to Davis to drop off my laundry and then up Broadway.  This is the view down Sansome with the glamorous Transamerica Pyramid:

The view down Sansome looking towards Telegraph Hill:

I continued on Broadway to Columbus to North Point to Van Ness to Francisco to Laguna to Chestnut to Lyon and into the Presidio.  I came up on Lincoln and stopped at my favorite spot for pics of the ocean and Marin:

Marin Headlands:

Golden Gate Bridge:

I continued on Lincoln into Camino Del Mar to 32nd.  Here are a few of the gorgeous homes on 32nd.  Likey:

I continued on 32nd to Clement and then up to the VA hospital.  This campus belongs to the group of Maya Revival buildings that sprouted up in San Francisco in the 30's.  Most of the buildings haven't been heavily extended to the site is in pretty good shape.  The architecture is Deco and pretty spectacular.  I think the ornamentation is somewhat at odds with the pretty severe deco style architecture and that it's much more successfully applied to a more organic design such as the Medical Dental Building.  But I still like it a lot.  Some guy told me I shouldn't be taking pictures.  I concluded he was crazy.  Check out how gorgeous this place is:

I continued on Clement down to 48th where I got another nice ocean shot:

I took a bunch of pics as I headed down towards the Great Highway.

Ocean and Marin:

Sutro Baths:

Ocean Beach:

The Cliff House:

Seal Rocks:

I took the Great Highway and went into Golden Gate Park at JFK.  I took that to the Panhandle to Stanyan to Page to Baker to Haight to Buena Vist East to Upper Terrace to Loma Vista to Roosevelt to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.  I beat Mr. Poe home again.  He's still pretty uncomfortable and he isn't sleeping well.  Poor baby.
