It was cold this morning!  Fall has come to San Francisco.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I came up the Great Highway to Geary to 34th and up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  It was crisp and pretty this morning up there:

Me:

I got on Camino Del Mar and took that to Lake to Arguello to Clay.  These pretty houses are on Clay in Presidio Heights:

This one has lovely detail:

I continued on Clay to Fillmore to Post.  These gorgeous Victorians look a little out of place in Japantown which has developed around them:

I continued on Post to Kearny to Bush.  This is the view down Bush from Montgomery:

I continued on Bush to Sansome and into work.

I continued on Columbus to North Point to Van Ness to Francisco to Octavia to Chestnut to Lyon and into the Presidio at the Lombard Gate.  I got on Lincoln and stopped a little west of the Golden Gate Bridge for pics:

I continued on Camino Del Mar up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor.  I noted that the Pax Jerusalemme sculpture is red again:

The museum looked gorgeous in the afternoon light:

I headed down to 34th to Balboa and down to the coast.  Was it ever windy!  The beach looked very windswept:

I took the Great Highway to Kirkham to 7th to Clarendon to Twin Peaks.  This is the view looking southeast from Twin Peaks:

The view northwest towards Marin:

I took Twin Peaks to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.

I managed to get out of the house a few minutes early this morning!  I headed off Corbett to Clayton to Parnassus into Judah and down to the coast.  This is the view up Judah from the Great Highway at sunrise:

I took the Great Highway south and stopped at the foot of Sloat for pics:

I continued on the Great Highway to John Muir to Lake Merced to Brotherhood Way to Alemeny to Silver to Mission to 18th to Harrison to Mariposa to Bryant.  This is the view down Bryant from 16th.  You can see the gorgeous federal building on 8th and Mission:

I got a few more pics from a little farther up the Embarcadero:

These are the Infinity towers that Mr. Chris and David have recently moved into.

I took Market to California to Sansome and into work.
After work I headed off Howard to 11th to Bryant to Precia to Mission.  This pretty building is on Mission around Valencia I think:

I continued on Mission to Silver to Alemeny to Sagamore to Brotherhood Way.  There's another Benny Bufano sculpture on Brotherhood Way that is very similar to the one in Fort Mason I looked at this morning:

I continued on Brotherhood Way to Lake Merced.  The Lake looked gorgeous:

This morning I headed off Corbett to Clayton to Parnassus to Cole to Waller to Stanyan and into the Park at JFK.  This is McLaren Lodge from Stanyan and JFK:

I continued on JFK to Arguello and took that into the Presidio and then came around on Washington and stopped at Washington and Lincoln for a pic of the Golden Gate Bridge:

I took Lincoln to Cowles to McDowell where I noticed that the new construction there seems to have necessitated the removal of the quaint pet cemetery underneath Doyle Drive.  I continued to Old Mason through Crissy Field to Marina and up into Fort Mason.  I love this Benny Bufano sculpture in Fort Mason.  He was an interesting California artist who, among other things, seems to have chopped off his trigger finger and sent it to Woodrow Wilson at the onset of World War I.  That's crazy moxie.  Or maybe just crazy.  You can read more about him here.

The view of the Marina from Fort Mason:

Me:

I headed over to Fisherman's Wharf.  This is the pretty Argonaut Hotel on Beach St.:

I took Beach to Columbus.  This gorgeous building is apparently a garage:

I continued on Columbus to Clay to Sansome and into work.

Was it ever hot on Saturday!  Yuck.  Doesn't the weather know that I live in northern California and am only comfortable between 60 and 75 degrees??  I led a ride for Different Spokes out to Point Reyes Station and back.  I felt pretty good except for the heat which was nice.  I'm definitely getting faster which is nice because I've been working pretty hard at it.

This is the Golden Gate Bridge before we crossed it laced with fog.

Roger was on a Lifecycle training ride to the Cheese Factory but we ran into him a couple of times:

Cameron:

Wanderson.  He's Brazilian and did a little better in the heat than the rest of us:

Brian:

It was getting hot by the time we rolled into Perry's in Fairfax:

Thomas:

It was roasting hot by the time we rolled into Point Reyes Station.  I got separated from the other riders and parked myself under a tree where I ran into my neighbor Mustafa:

I managed to locate the gang at Cowgirl Creamery:

Point Reyes Station:

It got hotter and hotter as we headed inland.  I almost called Mr. Poe to pick me up from Nicasio.  It was almost 100 and when the wind blew the wind was hot.  Yuck.  We made our way back to Fairfax and collapsed in the shade at Perry's.  It was starting to cool off as we headed home and was almost pleasant by the time we crossed the bridge again.  I made it home and had dinner and went to bed.  I sure hope it's cooler on our ride next week.  Some people like riding in that weather.  Those people are fucking crazy.
