Tuesday I got up and came down into work on Muni and then went to the gym over lunch.  In the afternoon I had a little time to kill so I went for a nice walk out to Fisherman's Wharf and Cow Hollow that came was about 5.3 miles.  I hadn't been to Fisherman's Wharf in the middle of the day and I soon remembered why.  It's swamped with tourists and generally pretty awful.  It's hard to believe that people come all the way to San Francisco and then hang out at Applebees:

This is some of the wharf part of Fisherman's Wharf:

I headed into the Maritime Museum which is free.  It doesn't have a lot in it, but the building is deco fabulous and there's a nice mural:

After work I headed over to Mr. Criss's.  He had a laid back dinner that started and ended early.  I saw these pretty lights on the way to his house.

We had dinner and then headed home.  Mr. Poe was tired and so was I.  It was a fun day and a great end to a good year.

Monday was walk2werq Monday and I had a great walk through the Haight, Lone Mountain, Jordan Park, Presidio Heights, Pacific Heights and Nob Hill.  It came in at about 7.7 miles.  I'm over these incredibly short days!  The sun wasn't up until more than halfway through my walk but luckily I saw these fantastic Christmas lights in Presidio Heights so it wasn't so terribly grim:

This was the view from Alta Plaza:

I headed into Japantown before Whole Foods:

I got my donut (OK it was 2) and then headed over Nob Hill into work.  I went home for lunch and then I took a spinning class after work.  Mr. Poe was at a movie so I had to feed myself.  I did a little work in the study and then went to bed at 9.  I tried to stay up and wait for him but I just couldn't.  It had been a very long day.

Saturday I ran errands with Mr. Poe in the morning and then after lunch I headed off on foot while he took a nap.  I headed over to Golden Gate Park and went to the De Young.  Which was a total shitshow.  I'd planned on going to the Bulgari exhibit and to also see David Hockney but the Hockney line was crazy long so I just went to go see Bulgari.  Which was OK and certainly not one of the better Jewelry shows I've seen.  By all means go have a look but don't expect it to be as cool as the Cartier exhibit was a couple of years ago.

After I left the museum I headed over to Bevmo to look at some liquors.  Then I headed home via a stop at St. Ignatius which has some FIERCE Christmas drag:

I headed home and got ready for Richard and Ron who were coming to dinner.  They left pretty early and I got cleaned up and watch TV before bed. A lot of Futurama.  Don't judge.

I worked from home on Thursday and Friday and the closest I came to activity was a quick walk with Miss Smith after work.  We walked around Nob Hill and Union Square.  He got a nice pic of me in front of the ferosh Christmas tree at the St. Francis:

Merry Christmas!  I went into work Christmas Eve and came home in the afternoon.  Mr. Poe and I went to Osaka Sushi for dinner and then caught the gay men's chorus at 7.  Mr. Poe liked it a lot more than I did, obviously, but I didn't hate it.  The guy who's running it has a bunch of nice ideas and it's nice to see.

I got up early on Christmas morning and started cooking.  I had a lot on the menu and I needed the onions to be going at like 7am.  The dogs were completely passed out by 10am.  Of course, they'd been up all night waiting for Poodie Claus.

I made a charlotte and a bourbon bundt cake.  I thought everything turned out really well.  So fancy:

This is what the dessert setup looked like:

Everybody was gone by 4pm which was nice.  I had grand plans of going for an epic walk before bed.  In reality I ate an entire apple pie while watching TV and then I went to bed.  It had been a very long day.

Monday was walk2werq Monday and I started off by heading downtown on Muni so I could drop off my stuff.  After I left work I headed up over Nob Hill and then found this cool car museum.  Here's a link if you want to visit during the day.  They have a tour!

I continued heading west and saw the sun rise at Alta Plaza:

I headed for Laurel Heights.  I saw a Christmas tree at the UCSF campus and I wanted to investigate it.  I walked past this gorgeous fire station cum superfantastic residence:

I headed over to UCSF:

Then I started heading back to the Financial District.  I took some pics along the way.  This is the glorious synagogue at Sacramento and Webster:

These wonderful Victorian is on California at Buchanan.  It isn't in the greatest of shape but it's enormous and fabulous:

These are a little further down at Laguna:

Mr. Poe was at home so I didn't have to go home for lunch.  Instead I headed over to Telegraph Hill and Jack Early Park.  There were views to spare:

Quiet alleyway on Telegraph Hill:

I saw this fabulous entry on my way back to the office.  Check out the tile work:

I went to my spin class after work and then I headed home.  I had dinner and then I went to bed.  Long day.

Sunday I led a Different Spokes ride out to Olema.  I rode with David and Gordon and they were totally expecting me to bail because it was very cold but I really wanted to ride so I wore about fifty layers and headed out.  We had great riding and once we got to Olema it wasn't so cold.  I got a couple of nice pics of Bolinas Lagoon as we headed toward Stinson:

I took a bunch more pics after snack in Stinson as we headed for Mill Valley.  Check out these views:

I got a shot of the Golden Gate Bridge as I headed home:

I went home and got cleaned up and started baking.  Likely my last baking of the year.  I thought I was finished but I found a couple bags of Christmas M&M's and I needed to use them so made a bunch of cookies.  I also made Paula Deen's fascinating Velveeta Fudge:

The house was alseep by 9PM yet again.

Saturday we got up early and did some work around the house.  We're almost ready for Christmas.  I got a pic of the dogs waiting for Poodie Claus:

I also baked some M&M cookies.  So pretty:

We headed down to Union Square mid day and I got a haircut and we had lunch.  We did some shopping and headed home.  I went and helped a friend move and then headed back home for dinner.  We went to bed pretty early.  I had a big Sunday planned.

Friday I managed to get up and out of the house on my bike.  I rode up Corbett and stopped at Portola for some pics of the beautiful sunrise:

I took Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taravel and down to the coast.  I froze my ass up the Great Highway and then got on Geary to 34th and up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor:

I headed down to Lake to Arguello to Clay to Fillmore to Pacific to Taylor to Clay to Sansome and into work.  I went to my work Christmas party over lunch and then I went for a nice ride after work.  I headed off down 2nd and stopped at South Park for pics:

I went back to 2nd to Townsend and got some pics of pretty South Beach on the way:

I continued on Townsend to Kansas to Potrero to 18th where I saw this.  It's the Verdi Club on 18th between Potrero and Hampshire.  The building dates from 1935 and it's super fantastic:

This guy looks specific enough that I'll be it's an actual person:

I continued on Hampshire to 19th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Montere.  I stopped around El Verano for a pic of the last light of the day:

I continued on Monterey into Santa Clara to Portola to Claremont to Merced to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett to Ord and home for dinner.  Then I got cleaned up and we went to bed.  I was beat.
