Friday I came into work on Muni and then I went to a spin class over lunch.  After work I took Muni to Civic Center and started walking.  I got a bunch of pics as I walked through:

One of the ugliest buildings in Civic Center in being reclad and it's gonna be super gorgeous:

I made my way to Hayes Valley.  I'd never noticed these townhouses before.  I love the look of the street:

This is the Herbst mansion and current decorator showcase.  You can see the interior here.

This is the lovely view looking down Broderick from Broadway:

They Lyon steps:

Looking down Lyons at the last light of the day:

I headed to the lower Haight and picked up dinner for Mr. Poe and I and headed home.  I'd told him he was getting Thai food which he was lukewarm about when in fact I brought him a Jalapeno Bacon Cheeseburger.  He was so happy he actually danced around the house and then dreamed about it that night.  We got cleaned up and we went to bed.

Wednesday I came into work on my bike Market to Laguna to Eddy to Polk to O'Farrell to Grant to Post to Kearny to Clay to Sansome.  I headed home for lunch but the weather seemed like it was getting wetter and wetter so I came back on Muni and then went to the gym after work.

Thursday I came in on Muni and went to a team Wells Fargo ALC meeting.  Which I totally thought was gonna be a like a bagel thing but turned into an hour long presentation I couldn't escape from.  I would have dialed in if I'd know that.  I headed home at lunch and came back with my bike.  After work I rode Sansome to Pacific to Fillmore to Jackson to Arguello.  I took this pic of the dwindling light at Jackson and Arguello:

I continued on Arguello to Lake to 8th and into Golden Gate Park.  I came out of the park at 9th to Judah to 7th into Laguna Honda into Dewey to Claremont to Portola to Santa Clara into Monterey to San Jose to Duncan to Valencia to 18th to Douglass to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.  After dinner I got cleaned up and then we went to bed.

Tuesday I pretty much took the day off of physical activity.  This time of year I need a day off and although I may try to schedule it, my body pretty much tells me when it believes it's had enough.  I came into work on Muni and then went to the Asian Art Museum over lunch.  I've been there so many times that I can pop in there for a half an hour and still manage to have fun because I know where everything is.  Plus, they were in between special exhibits.  So I was in and out in a half an hour and it was awesome.

UN Plaza:

 Simon Bolivar in UN Plaza:

Here I am at the main staircase:

I went in to go look at the Indian carving.  The gallery has quite a bit of natural light and really brings out the depth of the carving when you visit early in the day:

Bootylicious:

These were my favorite thing of the day.   I thought that they looked so modern and was completely shocked to find out they were Tang Dynasty (800-900) .  I love everything about them:

I went and hung out with Mr. Criss and Mr. David after work and then headed home where I proceeded to get awful motion sickness on Muni because I was watching a movie on my phone.  Ugh.  I get motion sickness very easily.  I've gotten it on the rowing machine at the gym.  Unbelievable.  I laid down for an hour and then I got up and had a little dinner and did some work and then I went to bed.  Fabulous day.

Monday was walk2werq Monday and I had a great time walking through the Haight, USF, Jordan Park, Presidio Heights, Pacific Heights and Nob Hill.  The walk came in at about 6.9 miles.  The sun's starting to come up a lot earlier but not early enough for me.  It's super creepy in the Haight at 6am in the dark.  Soon.

I took a bunch of pics in Presidio and Pacific Heights.  Such gorgeous homes:

The view from Alta Plaza.  It's plum trees that are in bloom:

I headed home for lunch and then went to a spin class after work which totally KICKED MY ASS.  I headed home and then while Mr. Poe made dinner I ran some baked ziti that Mr. Poe had made over to Ben and Courtney who are proud new parents to the cutest baby ever.  Then I headed home for dinner and we got cleaned up and went to bed.  I think I lasted until 9.

Sunday was my AIDS Lifecycle training ride and we had a great turnout on our trip out to Tiburon.  We've got a fantastic group this year and we're having lots of fun.  Chuck led stretches and that's always a sight to see:

Jen was supporting the ride that left the Sports Basement.  It was such a treat to see her!

Smoggy view over the north bay.  That's Angel Island in the background:

I got home pretty early and had lunch and lounged a bit.  I had big plans for Sunday night but ended up sitting around and then going to bed at 7:30.  Ah, well.  At least I had fun.

Saturday I led a Different Spokes ride out to Lucas Valley and then on to Point Reyes Station.  We had great weather and it was a really fun day.  I got this smoggy view of Lucas Valley from the top:

This is David, Gordon and Sal coming around Nicasio Reservoir:

Nicasio Reservoir is almost low enough to reveal Mimi's Fortress of Solitude:

The gang in Point Reyes Station:

We got back pretty early and I stopped for a pic at the Golden Gate Bridge:

I headed home and talked Mr. Poe into taking me out to go get take out food.  Traffic was crazy and we immediately regretted it but I kinda forgot all about that because we got falafel and it was delicious.  After dinner I got cleaned up and then we went to bed.

Friday I came into work on Muni and then went to a spin class over lunch.  The douchebag that normally teaches it had a sub and he was pretty awesome.  His name is Russ and he runs a fast paced class with just the right of drill sergeant-ness.  Likey!

After work I went at met Miss Smith at the 38 stop at Fremont and Market.  My drones were able to identify him on apprach:

Note the emotionless exterior.  Is that ever a good sign?

My pal Nick had suggested that I head to the Richmond and I hadn't been walking there in years so we took the 38L out to it's end in Sutro heights and then walked home from there.  First stop was Sutro Height Park which is gorgeous and romantic with lovely views:

We headed to Geary and got this pic of a entrance to a neighborhood:

Parts of the Richmond are gorgeous, but a lot of it is pretty tough to love.  There seems to be a lot more rental units proportionately to the rest of the city so it doesn't have a pride of ownership feeling that a lot of other neighborhoods have.   I think that's why the Sunset seems so much nicer.  Anyway, I saw this on Clement as we headed home:

I said goodbye to Nathan at Masonic.  He headed home and I went to Target to look for some kitchen stuff that we needed.  Then I headed home to feed the dogs.  Mr. Poe was at a movie so we got cleaned up and waited for him to come home.

Thursday, January 23, 2014

Tuesday I came in on Muni and went to a spin class over lunch.  After work I got my hair cut and then headed home for dinner.  Wednesday I worked from home and pretty much took the day off of exercise although late in the afternoon I walked to whole foods for donuts but that can't really count especially since I had two.

I've been doing quite a bit of reorganizing around the house and have FINALLY managed to talk Mr. Poe into letting me get rid of the awful futon in his study.  Let me know if you'd like a free slightly chewed futon frame.  I'll deliver.  We're keeping the mattress as a dog bed and I think the dogs like it quite a bit better:

Thursday I came into work Market to Laguna to O'Farrell to Grant to Post to Kearny to Clay to Sansome and into work.  I headed over to Kaiser on the bus over lunch and then went for a nice ride after work.  I headed off 2nd to Howard to 11th.  This is the cool former brewery at 11th and Folsom:

I continued on 11th into Bryant.  I love this building on Bryant at 23rd.  It's got such a strange roof line that I can't quite figure out:

I continued on Bryant to 26th.  This is sunset at Mission and 26th:

I continued on 26th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Monterey to Ridgewood to Flood to Hazelwood to Greenwood to Plymouth to Wildwood to Faxon to De Montefort to Ashton to Head to Holloway to Lake Merced to Middlefield to Ocean to Clearfield into 34th to Yorba to Crestlake to Wawona to 33rd to Vicente to 20th to Taravel to Merced to Hernandez to Laguna Honda to Portola to Corbett to Ord and home for dinner.  After dinner I got some work done and then I went to bed.
