We've been having the most glorious weather and Wednesday I managed to get up and out of the house early enough for a nice ride before work.  I headed off Corbett to Portola to Evelyn to Teresita to Gaviota to Bella Vista to Burlwood to Los Palmos to Hazelwood to Yerba Buena to Saint Elmo.  I love love love Monterey Heights because of it's amazing architecture and views:

I love this ridiculously glam Chinese Consolate.  It's so fabulous and I take pics of it frequently.  I'm sure they also take pics of me:

I took St Elmo to Monterey to San Andreas to San Anselmo and stopped for pics at the top of Saint Francis:

I continued on San Anselmo and stopped for this pic of pretty Saint Cecilia's:

I continued on San Anselmo to Santa Clara into Vicente to Madrone to Taravel to Dewey into 7th to Judah to 9th and into Golden Gate Park where I stopped at the Music Concourse for selfies:

I came out of the park at 8th to Lake to Arguello to Clay to Spruce to Washington and into Alta Plaza and then Jackson to Fillmore to Pacific to Taylor to Clay to Sansome and into work.

I took the afternoon off to lead an ALC training ride out to Tiburon.  Here's the group:

We got back too late for me to go to the Different Spokes thing at Sports Basement which kind of sucked but on the upside I got to see this in the Presidio:

I headed home where I was very tired and bonky and wasn't nice to Mr. Poe which was unacceptable. I need to make sure I eat when I need to because I get all "Hulk Angry!!!!" if I wait too long.

We're having wonderful weather this week in the Bay Area, and Tuesday I managed to get out of bed and out on my bike both before and work.   I headed off Corbett to Portola to Woodside to Dewey to Taraval and down to the coast.  I headed down the Great Highway and stopped for pics of the beach from the foot of Sloat:

I continued on the Great Highway to Skyline and stopped for a pic at pretty Lake Merced.  I haven't been here in the morning in forever:

I took Skyline to Lake Merced to Font to Holloway to Harold to Ocean to Phelan to Judson to Gennessee to Hearst to Edna to Monterey to San Jose to Duncan to Valencia to 17th to Kansas to Townsend to the Embarcadero to Washington to Sansome and into work.  Over lunch I tried to take the tour at Grace Cathedral but they didn't have a docent so I just walked around on my own:

Fascinating mural series that depicts the story of the church and the cathedral:

I love the way they did Mary.  Very Klimpt like:

Benny Bufano sculpture still in its easter drag:

Pretty Nob Hill:

After work I headed off Sansome to Pacific to Columbus to Stockton to North Point to Van Ness to Francisco to Octavia to Greenwich to Lyon and into the Presidio at the Lombard Gate.  I headed over to Lincoln and noted the construction work they've been doing on the Golden Gate Bridge connector. It's really coming along:

Crissy Field from overlook:

China Beach

I continued on Lincoln into Camino Del Mar to 25th to Seacliff.  I got a couple of pics of the Golden Gate Bridge from Baker Beach:

Monday was walk2werq Monday and I had an interesting walk through the Western Addition, Pacific Heights and the Marina.  I walked Buchanan end to end and it was interesting to see all the variety and how much mid 20th century development in the Western Addition there is that I don't like.

This is at Market and 16th.  It's recent and I love the way it looks in the morning.  Here's hoping I still like it in 10 years:

At Buchanan and Market is the Architectronica designed Linea which is super fantastic.  Love love love it.  My friend Shelby just moved in and I'm mildly jealous.

A couple blocks down the street is the Nightingale house which has been thoroughly renovated and looks amazing:

The view of the old UCSF campus that's getting transformed into retirement housing:

My first apartment in San Francisco was in this building, 300 Buchanan, in 2000.  I lived there for about six months until I met and moved in with Mr. Poe:

This is one of the grand Victorians in Alamo Square.  So pretty:

I don't know anything about this but I saw it where Buchanan had been blocked off for a couple of blocks.  I'm struggling to call it art. Was it one of a pair.  Was it part of a larger installation?  I got nothing.

Buchanan runs through the heart of Japantown:

This is the gorgeous synagogue on Sacramento.  I've had a hard time finding a good angle to take pics of it from:

This is a beautiful California Pacific medical library:

I love this modern tower.  Have the doors always been painted like this?

This house has gone the mosaic rider route for their front steps.  I don't love it in residential use.  It looks a little cat lady.

Some pics from the Marina;

Me in Fort Mason Park:

I noted two cruise ships in port when I was heading in on Bay.  I love that we're getting so much cruise ship traffic.  It's like free money for the city.

After work I went to my spin and strength training classes and then went home and went to bed.  It had been a very long day and I was completely beat.
