Saturday was Day 0 and I got up early and headed down to the Cow Palace to register.  Things moved pretty smoothly and I was done in a couple of hours.  I walked from there to Balboa Park BART and came home that way rather than taking the T train which takes a very, very long time.  I headed home for lunch and then went to go meet Elliott for mani pedi's in the Castro.  Then we headed home for dinner and I went to bed.

This otherwise not so amazing apartment building has a funicular.  Why don't we have one of those on Ord?

Thursday I managed to get out of the house and I walked to work up over Liberty Hill, over to Precita Park, and then downtown on Folsom.   Folsom is a really pretty street and has seen much improvement over the years.  I got my donut and headed into work.  Pics from the walk:

I went to a spin class mid day and then headed home to work from home for the rest of the day and to wait for our houseguest to arrive.  We housed a first time rider as we usually do.  He showed up and went out for dinner with his team while I headed down to the Castro and collected falafel for dinner.  After dinner we went to bed.  Long ass day.

Wednesday I was out of the house with Mr. Poe and took the dogs to Golden Gate Park via Alamo Square that came in at 6.5 miles.  It was such an incredibly beautiful morning--  bright, clear and gorgeous--  and we had a great time.  I got some nice pics from Alamo Square:

I made my way to the Music Concourse and stopped for a pic of the gorgeous DeYoung:

I made my way over to Sharon Meadow and stopped for some pics:

I worked from home in the morning and then headed downtown mid day.  After work I headed to the gym and took a strength training class and then a spin class.  I headed home for dinner and then wrapped up some caramels I'd made earlier in the day.  Candy!  And it wasn't hard!

By the time I was crawling into bed I couldn't believe I actually stayed up until 10.

Tuesday was a very special walk2werq Tuesday and I had a fun walk through the Haight and over to Jordan Park, Presidio Heights, Pacific Heights, and North Beach.  The security guard didn't let me walk around Presidio Terrace which was a first but I'm not sure if it's a new rule or if it's because it was very early.  Developing.

I love the midcentury-ness of pretty Ewing Terrace:

Fabulous Jordan Park:

St Gregory the Illuminator.  I haven't been in, but everything about this tiny church is so high quality that it must be pectacular.

The detail on this cross is incredible:

I headed home for lunch and ran a few final errands for the Lifecycle.  I came back on my bike and then went for a nice ride after work.  I headed off 2nd to Townsend.  Never again.  2nd is too much of a shit show and I wanna live to see tomorrow.  I continued on Townsend to Kansas to 17th to Bryant to 25th to Lilac where I stopped to see the fabulous murals.  Definitely worth a look:

I continued 26th to Valencia to Tiffany to 29th to San Jose to Monterey into Santa Clara to Portola to Claremont to Dewey to Laguna Honda into 7th to Hugo to 3rd to Frederick to Shrader to Page to Scott to Duboce to Noe to Market to 17th to Ord and home for dinner.  After dinner I got cleaned up and ready for bed.  Fabulous day.
